Gettysburg were downed twice by Johns Hoipkins and Dickinson during Family Weekend.
Bumps in the Road
October 28, 2015
10-24-15 v. Johns Hopkins University
Much like Sherman’s “march to the sea”, the Johns Hopkins offense was relentless. Wave after wave, they outshot Gettysburg badly, by pummeling goalies Tom Pelchat and Elliot Pajer with 53 shots. The entire G’burg offense was provided by senior John Baum, who registered a hat trick. Final score 13-3. Back to work tomorrow night as Dickinson College is in town to meet the Bullets.
10-25-15 v. Dickinson
Sunday night saw division rival Dickinson come to York Ice Arena. After having bested them the opening game of the season, expectations were high. However, Dickinson came to play and were in control most of the way. The first period reflected most of the scoring in which Dickinson led by a score of 7-1, scoring four of those in the last three minutes of the first period. The lone G’burg tally came from old reliable #13, John Baum. The second period was a bright spot, with two goals from last year’s team scoring leader, sophomore defenseman Joe Stancato. It also saw G’burg win the period 2-1. The third period only consisted of one goal by the visitors, as the Bullets could only manage two shots during this period, and the shot totals reflected the outcome (final score 9-3). The team returns to play a road game on Halloween against E’town, where the Bullets will try to repeat victory over them.
First of all, thanks so much for coming last night, showing Kyle how to work the clock, and providing the music and announcements.
