#21 Connor Shalleck netted a hat trick to push Gburg over F&M

None 'Shall-eck' Pass

Gettysburg traveled acrossed Rt 30 to take on a rival in all sports, the Franklin & Marshall Diplomats.  The scoring opened in the first period as freshman Reed Berestecky put the Bullets out in front 1-0 unassisted.  With 2:24 left in the first period, the Dips tied it up, ending the period at 1-1.

        9:43 in the second period saw Jack Kolpak hit the back of the net for the Bullets, assisted by freshman James Miller and classmate Connor Shalleck.  A minute later F&M answered, making it 2-2.  Five minutes later Connor Shalleck put Gburg back in front, with assists to Berestecky and Kolpak.  Four minutes later, playing in his first game, James Miller scored his first collegiate goal, making it 4-2 Gettysburg.  The second period ended with the same score.

        Three minutes into the third, F&M would close the gap to 4-3.  Four minutes later, defenseman Taylor Slade made it 5-3, with assists to Kolpak and Shalleck.  Two minutes later F&M cashed in, making it 5-4, then twenty seconds later tying it at 5-5.  A minute later, assistant captain Connor Shalleck made it 6-5, and twenty seconds later James Miller made it 7-5, assisted by Taylor Slade.  Another minute barely passed before Gburg made it 8-5 with a hat trick goal by #21 Connor Shalleck.   One more minute later, F&M got their last score of the day, making it 8-6.  The icing on the cake followed at the seven minute mark by Jack Kolpak, in a move that should have had him arrested!  It was his second goal of the day, assisted by Slade and Miller.  This game also marked the first collegiate start in goal by freshman goalkeeper Lance Tenenbaum.  Final score 9-6.

        The Bullets travel Saturday to the frozen tundra of Sunbury Ice rink play at Bucknell.
