Ice Hockey has been a Club Sport at Gettysburg College for over 20 years, and

hockey at Gettysburg has been around even longer than that. Gettysburg College

Ice Hockey is a Division III club program that had played in the Mason Dixon

Collegiate Hockey Association (MDCHA) for over 20 years at the DIII level, and then

competed in the Greater Northeast Collegiate Hockey Conference (DII). The Bullets

are now members of the Delaware Valley Collegiate Hockey Conference (DVCHC)

which is a member of the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA), basically

the NCAA of club hockey teams. Gettysburg won its first conference championship

in 1992-93 and again in the 2007-08 season, and was ranked as high as 9th in the

2006-07 ACHA regional rankings.

Gettysburg College has a rich hockey tradition dating back decades, but much of its history has been lost as players have graduated and alumni have moved on. Although the team has enjoyed recent success and has helped reconnect to its roots with the annual Alumni Game, the team still needs help from its alumni and friends to learn more about Gettysburg Hockey's illustrious heritage.

If any alumni have any old photos, records, stories, or just anything related to Gettysburg Ice Hockey (especially prior to 2005), please get in contact with Eric Esser '03 to add to the Gettysburg Hockey archives. And track down your old teammates and get them to help! The annual Alumni Game has grown each year it has been held, but we are always looking for new friends and old alumni to come back to make the game special.
